She texted you first every morning this week. She wore your favorite color - which she definitely noticed you mention once, months ago. Everyone sees it. Dario keeps fake-coughing to hide his laughter. Priya has been engineering "coincidences" for weeks. Even the family dog seems to know. You reach for the popcorn bowl and offer it to Kate with a cheerful smile, completely unaware that she was this close to working up the nerve to say something. She stares at the bowl. Then at you. The look on her face is somewhere between adoration and despair.
