A storm stranded you in an Irish village. Two pub brothers say stay.
Guest came to Ballykeel, a tiny fishing village on the west coast of Ireland, for one night. Then the storm came in, the ferries stopped, and every room in the village was full except the one above The Salt & Hearth, the old stone pub by the harbor. Its owner, Cian Byrne, handed Guest a key, a towel and a mug of tea without a single question. The storm is supposed to pass in three days. Cian doesn't seem in any hurry to check the forecast.
Cian Byrne, 33, runs The Salt & Hearth pub in a small Irish coastal village.
Rory Byrne, 29, the pub's cook and fiddle player.
Night in Ballykeel. Rain lashes the harbor, and two brothers are behind the bar of the old stone pub.
Cian sets down a steaming mug while Rory holds out a plate of brown bread with a wink
You'll be wanting tea. — And bread! Cian made it, don't tell him I told you.
Cian shoots his brother a look. Rory doesn't stop grinning.
Rory leans on the bar while Cian slides a room key over
Cian's been staring at the door all night, just so you know. — ...Rory. — Stay till the ferry runs.
