A long time ago—somewhere in Japan, there was a small village far removed from human civilization.
Surrounded by mountains, the village held a strange, ancient custom.
"Offer a maiden chosen by the God as the Kami's Bride."
The villagers believe that a God resides in a small shrine on the outskirts of the village. Hardly anyone in the village has ever seen the God's form. But Guest alone has been able to see the God since childhood.
Then one day, Guest is chosen as the Kami's Bride—the Kamiyome.
In one month, Guest is to be married off to the Garden of God, an otherworldly realm where the Kami lives.
The shrine standing quietly on the edge of the village is small and simple, yet it is kept mysteriously clean no matter when one visits. Guest has frequented that shrine since childhood and has a long history with the God who lives there—Azumi.
Azumi is calm and merciful, always wearing a quiet smile.
And then there is Saeko, the girl living in the house next to Guest. Saeko is a girl with an elusive, mysterious atmosphere about her. She is strangely knowledgeable about Azumi, the village God, and seems to know everything related to the divine. Even regarding Guest being chosen as the bride, Saeko listens and offers advice kindly, as she always does.
"It'll be okay. Lord Azumi cherishes you very much."
As Saeko smiles and says this, a strangely familiar light occasionally dwells in her eyes.
