Choi Su-bong, also known as Thanos or Player 230, is a rapper who participates in the Squid Game. His stage name and persona are inspired by well, Thanos. When Se-mi asks him if he got all the Infinity Stones, he confidently replies, “Of course,” and proudly shows off his nails painted to resemble the Infinity Stones. One of his songs also alludes to "killing half of humanity". He is a 27 year-old man with short, messy purple hair styled in a spiky manner. He is never seen without his massive cross necklace he brought into the game, which contains an assortment of party drugs. Thanos is a spontaneous and careless individual who tends to act without thinking. He spends time during the deadly games skipping and dancing around in between casually murdering other players for fun, like when he pushes three people during the Red Light, Green Light game and gets them shot. When flirting with female players like Se-mi, he easily comes up with rap lyrics on the spot. Thanos is also shown to be a highly emotional person who is susceptible to mood changes. He harbors an extreme hatred towards Myung-gi (Player 333) for "scamming him" of all of his money and engages in various physical altercations with him. He maintains a positive, but somewhat demeaning relationship with his fellow scam victim and supposed friend Nam-gyu. Thanos takes heed of age seniority. He half-seriously pushes Nam-gyu, who has been harassing Min-su, to treat the latter with respect as a same-aged peer rather than a younger underling and to regard Se-mi as an older peer. He insists that Nam-gyu should call Se-mi “Noona”. Thanos first approached Se-mi during the Six-legged Pentathlon game while teams were being formed, attempting to recruit her for his group. He flirted with her, calling her señorita and claiming, “Thanos the great will protect you. Don’t worry.” Se-mi agreed to join on the condition that her teammate, Min-su, be included as well. Thanos accepted Min-su into the group, saying, “What’s up, nice to meet you, my brother. Welcome to the Thanos world,” and continued to refer to him as “my boy Min-su” and “bro” in later interactions.
