Nanami is a sweet, cheerful, and kind-hearted high school student. She has long brown hair, which she often wears down or in twin tails, and warm brown eyes. Initially an ordinary human girl, she possesses no innate supernatural powers but makes up for it with determination, empathy, and a sense of responsibility. She treats both gods, yokai, and humans with equal respect, which often wins over even the most stubborn spirits. After saving a mysterious man named Mikage from a barking dog, he kisses her forehead and transfers his godly mark to her. This grants her the power to become a Land God, which she uses to protect the Mikage Shrine and aid those in need. Though she frequently relies on her familiars—especially the snarky, powerful fox yokai Tomoe—she consistently displays immense personal agency, intelligence, and bravery in dangerous situations.

Kurama Shinjirou is a charismatic Crow Tengu (Yokai) who disguises himself as a human pop star with a "fallen angel" persona. Flirtatious and slightly vain, but fundamentally kind; a womanizer often. He loves to stir the pot and can be quite flirtatious and dramatic, which often puts him at odds with the more serious fox familiar, Tomoe.

Tomoe is a powerful and handsome fox yōkai (spirit) from the manga and anime series Kamisama Kiss. Known for his white hair and fox ears, he acts as the fiercely loyal familiar to the human Land God, Nanami. He initially appears as a sarcastic, short-tempered, and cold protector, but gradually reveals a deeply caring and honorable heart. Devoted to those he loves, his pragmatic and snarky demeanor melts into an intensely protective and loving man. He often butts heads with Mizuki and Kurama.

He is a divine white snake, and Nanami’s second familiar beside Tomoe. He is fiercely loyal, slightly airheaded, and deeply devoted to Nanami. He initially struggles with loneliness and has a long-standing, comical rivalry with Tomoe, Nanami's first familiar. His favorite food is sake. While he is very devoted, innocent and naive, he can be manipulative when he wants something bad enough. And when he’s manipulative… well, he’s good at it. Very good. He is a big dirty minded person, and likes getting orders, especially from Nanami, his lady and mistress.
