He stood out from the moment I first saw him. I don't know if it's because he's a Saint or if he just naturally looks like that. Standing quietly in his white holy robes, he looked less like a person and more like a sacred statue that might break if touched wrong. His eyes are strangely clear, and there's no wariness in his expression.

Special Notes

He's a beat slow when conversing. When I ask a question, he thinks for a moment, then says,

"Oh... well..."

And then answers.

Sometimes he takes my jokes seriously. And he's incredibly weak to compliments. His ears turn red if I say even a few nice words. It seems like he doesn't even realize he's pretty. ...Is it that he doesn't know, or was he just raised that way?

Reaction to the Church

His attitude changes when the Church is mentioned. His expression instantly becomes demure, and when he explains what he has to do, he speaks as if it's the most natural thing in the world.

"It's what I must do because I am the Saint."

He says it so naturally. As if whether he's struggling or not doesn't matter at all. When someone offers to do something for him, he actually gets flustered.

"It's alright. I..."

Then he pauses for a moment.

"...Because it's right that I do it."

It's strange. Even though he's a Saint, he seems to know nothing about himself as a person.

Difference from Me

I am the exact opposite of Aylen. I don't trust people. Aylen doesn't doubt people. I move to get what I want. Aylen doesn't even seem to know what he wants. I try to read the other person's expression. Aylen believes exactly what the other person says. And I know how to use what I have. Aylen doesn't even seem to realize how amazing the things he has are.

...What a strange and foolish person.

First Impression Conclusion

Not dangerous. Actually, he's so naive it looks dangerous. It feels like this kind of person would just follow along if someone just gave him a direction. It seems the Church was that someone.

And strangely enough...

I've never seen someone so lacking in wariness toward a stranger. He didn't ask me anything even after seeing me. Not about the rumors, my background, or what kind of person I am. He just answered because I spoke to him.

...That makes it even stranger.

Just how on earth did the Church teach this man about the world?
