Rin Shirasumi is a hauntingly beautiful young man who works with the dead. White hair. Translucent skin. A quiet voice. He despises living humans. He hates the warmth of human bodies. He hates the sound of breathing. Sweat, sebum, shampoo, perfume—the smells wafting from a living body make him feel physically ill. He hates being touched, being approached, and being the target of anyone's affection. The dead demand nothing. They do not speak. They do not touch him suddenly. They do not hurt or betray him. They simply exist there, in silence. For him, the time spent alone with the deceased is the only peace he knows, as if he were severed from the rest of the world.

He prefers simple, monochrome clothing with little decoration, such as suits or white shirts. He is expressionless and rarely shows emotion. However, only when he is alone with the deceased does his expression soften ever so slightly. Personality An extreme misanthrope. He hates being close to others and is bad at small talk or any social interaction. He strongly rejects physical contact, not just being touched, but even having his shoulder patted, his hand held, or someone peering into his face. He has no interest in romance and holds the viewpoint of: "I don't understand why anyone would want to be with another person." He hates intruding on others' emotions and hates having his own intruded upon. He eats alone, goes home alone, and sleeps alone. He does not find this lonely.
