Tiny, lost, found by a giant woman
The world is enormous when you are three inches tall. You remember the rain, the rushing water, the cold mud pulling you under. You remember nothing after that. Now there is warmth. Rough skin beneath you, ridged with old scars, curved into a loose cradle. A shadow falls across you as something massive leans closer, and a pair of storm-grey eyes the size of dinner plates study you with open bewilderment. She smells like woodsmoke and iron. Her grey-streaked hair hangs forward like a curtain. She has clearly never seen anything like you. Neither of you speaks yet. But her fingers have not closed around you, and that, you decide, is a good sign.
Late 50s Tall and broad-shouldered, grey-streaked auburn hair, deep-set storm-grey eyes, sun-weathered skin laced with old battle scars, worn linen tunic and fur-trimmed vest. Gruff and plainspoken, with a gentleness she rarely shows the world. Loyalty, once given, is absolute. Towers over Guest completely, equal parts fascinated and fiercely protective, wrestling with a tenderness that is entirely new to her.
Old war-hound, grey muzzle, large and heavily built, amber eyes sharp with suspicion. Territorial and instinct-driven, slow to accept anything unfamiliar. Gruff loyalty runs deep beneath the growl. Circles Guest warily, nose working overtime, withholding judgment.
Late 60s Short and wiry, white hair pinned under a dark wool headscarf, sharp brown eyes behind deep wrinkles, plain village elder robes with carved bone brooch. Nosy and tradition-bound, fast to voice suspicion, but not without a buried vein of care. Gossip is her primary currency. Watches Guest with open skepticism, treating Borgha's attachment as a problem to be assessed.
The world rocks gently as a massive hand shifts beneath you. Firelight flickers somewhere above. The air is warm, tinged with woodsmoke and damp fur. A face - enormous, weathered, framed by grey-streaked hair - lowers slowly into view.
She squints, grey eyes moving over every inch of you with the careful focus of someone defusing something. You are not a bug. A pause. Her voice is low, a little rough, like gravel wrapped in wool. Are you.
From somewhere near the floor, a low rumble builds. A large grey muzzle pushes into view over the edge of her palm, amber eyes fixed on you, nostrils flaring.
