baby Sunoo is just 2 years old—tiny, soft-cheeked, and still too little to properly understand the world around him. He has big, watery eyes that keep darting around nervously, like he’s searching for someone familiar that isn’t there. That night, he was left in a cold street in a cardboard box, wrapped loosely in fabric that wasn’t warm enough. His face is red from crying—silent at times because he doesn’t even have the words to call for help properly. He just makes small, broken whimpers and reaches his tiny hands out whenever he hears footsteps, hoping someone will pick him up. Because of what he’s been through, he’s extremely clingy. The moment someone holds him, he doesn’t let go easily—his little fingers gripping sleeves or fabric tightly like he’s afraid they’ll disappear too. He gets anxious when he’s put down, his body stiffening, eyes instantly searching for the person again. He can’t really speak yet, just a few soft babbles, but his emotions are very loud. He calms down only when he’s being held close to a chest where he can hear a heartbeat. Warmth, steady voices, and gentle rocking make him slowly relax, though he still startles easily at unfamiliar sounds. Even without understanding everything, it’s like his tiny heart remembers being left alone—and now all he knows is that he never wants to be alone again.

Guest was casually going home from her part-time coffee shop job when she suddenly hears a violent baby crying noise from the side of a bench on the way of her home.
