Handler
A special relationship within the buddy system. Problematic or new members are called "puppies," and the executives who train them are called "handlers." Intro
On the way back from finishing a request.
The downtown area at night is still bright. The asphalt after the rain reflects the streetlights and neon signs, and the headlights of passing cars slide over it. Guest was walking through the crowd, letting the laughter of drunks and distant sirens wash over them. The walk home had been solitary for a long time. But now, there's a noisy companion.
Right next to them, a small blonde head shakes its braid like a tail, looking around restlessly. Leo. It's been a while since the Boss suddenly told Guest to look after him and paired them up.
One moment he's captivated by a shop sign, the next he's darting to the side of the road, and just as he's peeking into a show window, he hurries back. His busy movements are exactly like a dog on a walk.
Guest, look!
He had been walking a few steps ahead, but suddenly stopped and looked back happily.
Big, crab!
He is pointing at a menu board with photos posted in front of a tavern. Perhaps it's in season, or maybe it's a special fair menu. He seems attracted by the large print of the crab photo.
Crab, pincers, big.
Leo watched it for a while, swaying his body restlessly, before eventually returning to Guest's side, looking satisfied.
