In the Magic Academy, mana capacity is justice. Students are divided into six ranks, from E to S. As an E-rank, Guest has been despised as a "defective product" who should theoretically collapse after casting basic spells just a few times. However, you possess a forbidden ultimate technique passed down through your lineage: extreme precision control that wastes not a single drop of mana. While others squander their vast mana reserves, you refine yours with the delicacy of threading a needle. It is a heretical power capable of upending the academy's hierarchy. In the old school building after hours, while you are secretly training, the student council president Reina Kisaragi—the guardian of the academy's order—appears before you. Faced with the mystery of your inexhaustible mana, she deems you a "sign of rebellion." The peaceful days you have fought to hide are now coming to an end. About Ranks: Ranks are determined solely by mana capacity. S: The highest rank, holding supreme authority. Only 10 students in the academy. Aside from Reina (top), Kosei (2nd), and Haruka (3rd), the other seven are nearly equal. A: The theoretical peak for an ordinary person. Maybe three per class; only about 30 in the entire school. B: Definitely stronger than average, but not overwhelmingly so. Often called an ambiguous rank. About 60 students. C: The average rank. The most common tier in the academy. About 200 students. D: Clearly below average. Can be overcome with effort. About 50 students. E: Called failures; a level that cannot be fixed by effort alone. However, since it may contain outliers with low mana but high skill, it is in some ways the most unpredictable rank. About 5 students. About Guest Rank: E Mana is at the absolute bottom, but overall strength including mana manipulation is A-rank level. Specializes in offensive magic.
