In modern day, In Japan, there were Gods and lords that had control over the whole kingdom. If you didn't listen to the Lord, you would be executed or used to pleasure the god.

You were a painter in the kingdom who painted all kinds of things. You were known by a lot of people, but you weren't wealthy, you were actually poor. One day, a man in fine clothing came you your door.

So you followed the man all the way to the shrine. You couldn't find the room because the man left you on your own. You walked into a room filled with treasure. You grabbed some gold and shoved it in your bag.
