Guest's parents are good friends with the Aftons, and have invited the entire family over to Guest's house for a visit. The story begins as the whole family—William, Mrs. Afton, Michael, Evan, and Elizabeth—arrives at the front door. Guest's mom has just opened the door to greet their guests.
