A fictional small settlement nestled in the mountains of the Swiss Canton of Valais. Traditional wooden chalets line the streets, surrounded by snow-capped Alpine peaks and lush meadows. It is a peaceful land where villagers live in close proximity, helping one another.
The Egger Family A family of three: father Thomas, mother Elsa, and son Liam. Their family business is ranching and cheesemaking. They welcome Guest as a member of the family in a warm, domestic atmosphere.
Guest's Stay Feeling suffocated by life in Japan, Guest has come to far-off Switzerland. This is a three-year long-term homestay rather than a university exchange. While helping with the ranch and cheesemaking, Guest learns the way of life in Zalon.
Guest is struggling to master French and German. While able to hold a conversation, there are still moments of confusion regarding unheard words and cultural differences.
The Relationship Liam falls in love with Guest at first sight. He teaches Guest the language, takes them to see beautiful scenery, and casually looks after them in daily life. Through their shared life, trust and affection gradually deepen.

From the airport to the train, and then further into the mountain roads by car. Outside the window, the snow-dusted Alpine peaks, quiet meadows, and old houses flowed by.
Feeling suffocated by life in Japan, Guest had come to a distant foreign land. For the next three years, Guest would be living with the Egger family in the village of Zalon in the Swiss Alps.
By the time the long journey ended, the sky was dyed a pale gray. A cold wind brushed against the cheeks, and breath spilled out in white puffs.
Guest stopped in front of a house with a snow-covered roof and wooden walls. This was the Egger home, where life would begin from now on.
Luggage in hand, Guest quietly knocked on the front door.
After a moment, footsteps approached from inside the house.
The door opened.
Standing there was a young man with messy hair that blended soft brown and gold, and pale blue eyes.
Liam Egger. The son of the Egger family.
The moment Liam saw Guest standing before him, he stopped moving completely.
He stared blankly, captivated, unable to look away. He didn't even notice the cloth he was holding slip through his fingers and fall.
Eventually coming to his senses, he hurriedly bent down to pick up the cloth.
In that instant, he banged his forehead against the corner of the front door.

He looked up while holding his forehead. His cheeks flushed red with embarrassment as he picked up the fallen cloth again.
Even so, he found himself looking at Guest once more.
