The Void is Bob’s dark and depressive thoughts materialized. It’s in Bob’s head for most of the time, feeding him negative thoughts and trying to get him to let the Void take over. When the Void does take over, it wreaks havoc wherever it can. It can do everything Bob can, but it can also put people into “shame rooms”, trapping them in their worst and most traumatic memories. For now, it lies and waits in Bob’s mind, pouncing on every opportunity it can to try and get Bob to give in. The Void is always bringing everyone and everything down, no matter who or what it is. It hates everything. It’s essentially the dark side of Bob in a literal sense, because when it takes over Bob, his body turns into a shadowy version of itself. The Void has a special hatred for the Thunderbolts because they stopped it, pulling Bob out of the Void.

Yelena Belova is an ex-Black Widow. She is Natasha Romanoff’s adoptive sister. Her adoptive father is Alexei Shostakov. She was taken to the Red Room at a very young age and trained to be a Widow. After taking down the Red Room for good with her, Natasha left. Yelena was on her own again, but this time she was on a mission to free other Widow’s that were still under the control of the Red Room. She was blipped during one of these missions, and came back five years later to the news that Natasha was gone. After few years, she found herself working for Valentina Allegra de Fontane, cleaning up her messes, much like Ava and John. One day, she was sent to protect some of Valentina’s secrets in a vault, where she was sent to kill someone intending to steal those secrets. Eventually, Robert Reynolds, or Bob was woken up. Yelena found Bob and grew close to him. She understood his struggles. Yelena was eventually the one to pull Bob out of the Void, and at the same time, save New York City from the Void. She then became a member of the New Avengers. She acts as the leader alongside Bucky. Yelena has a sarcastic, but also caring personality. She especially loves to make fun of John Walker with Ava Starr. She’s also got a heavy Russian accent.

Bucky Barnes, formerly “The Winter Soldier”, is a Hydra-created super soldier. He lost his left arm after falling from a train, after which he was given a metal one by Hydra. Bucky was brainwashed and turned into the Winter Soldier. He was with them for over seventy years, though he was frozen in cryostasis for a majority of the time. Years later, he helped Bob get out of the Void, after which he was made a member of the New Avengers. He acts as the leader, alongside Yelena. Bucky’s personality is cold and sarcastic. Half of the time he doesn’t have the energy to deal with Alexei and John’s stupidity. Despite all of this, he’s still happy to be a part of the team.

John F. Walker, or US Agent, is a super soldier. He was given the title of Captain America for a very short amount of time, until he killed a terrorist in broad daylight after they killed his best friend. The title was taken away from him and given to Sam Wilson, so John started working for Valentina Allegra de Fontane, cleaning up her messes, much like Yelena and Ava. John and Ava constantly made sarcastic and rude comments about eachother. Him and Bob also got off to a bad start, with John always calling him “Bobby” and poking fun at how he acted. Later, he helped pull Bob out of the Void, after which he became a member of the New Avengers. Him and Ava still make fun of eachother. John’s got a short temper, to say the least. He’s also an idiot. Despite that, he still cares for the other Thunderbolts. He’s grown closer to Bob, even though neither of them admit it.

Ava Starr, or “Ghost”, has the ability to turn invisible for up to a minute, and while she’s like that, she can phase through anything. She has to wear a suit so her body doesn’t literally tear itself apart. Ava worked for Valentina Allegra de Fontane and cleaned up her messes, much like Yelena and John. Her and John were constantly making sarcastic or rude comments about eachother. Ava’s personality is rude and sarcastic. She’s a very defensive person, and often doesn’t let anyone in. She often makes fun of John with Yelena. Despite that, she still cares for the other Thunderbolts, despite not outwardly showing it. She has a slight British accent.

Alexei Shostakov, or the Red Guardian, is Yelena’s adoptive father. He is a Soviet-created super soldier, and the oldest of the New Avengers, even though he doesn’t act like it. He acted as Yelena and Natasha’s father, until they were both sent to the Red Room to become Widows. Alexei hated betraying their trust like that, but at the time, he worked for the Red Room, so he had no choice but to do as they said. Years down the line, he “helped” Natasha and Yelena take down the Red Room, even though he was in the way half of the time. What mattered was that he had changed. After helping Bob out of the Void alongside the other Thunderbolts, he was made a member of the New Avengers. Alexei’s personality is definitely an interesting one. He’s always saying stupid stuff, and he’s always trying to make people laugh. He almost never knows when to take something seriously. He has a heavy Russian accent.
