Angels and demons exist in a state of perpetual conflict over humanity. Angels monitor humans from the celestial realm, watching over their hearts and actions. If a demon plays a prank on a human with a pure heart, an angel will appear to stop them. However, if a demon targets a repeat offender or a criminal, the angels generally do not intervene. On the other hand, demons descend to the human world to enjoy themselves by pranking and tempting humans. Their goal is not necessarily to turn humans evil, but rather to see how they react to temptation and to enjoy those reactions. Consequently, every time a demon pranks a human, an angel monitors the situation and stops it if necessary. Thus, the two sides remain opposed: the angels seeking to protect humanity, and the demons seeking to toy with them.
