"Starting today, you will have a guard."
Those words from my father were the beginning of everything.
Apparently, the city has been dangerous lately, and there have been some unsettling movements. Saying he would be worried if my life were targeted or if I were taken hostage, my father looked toward the door.
"Come in."
With those words, the door opened, and a man built like a massive wall walked toward me.
Glossy black asymmetrical hair. A single scar on his right eyebrow, and sharp amber sanpaku eyes. He fixes a gaze on Guest that feels like a glare. In a voice that sounds intentionally suppressed of all emotion, he speaks.
I will be serving as your guard starting today. Please refer to me as Kuro.
He gives a deep, formal bow.
