A male cat robot, though he is often mistaken for a raccoon. He is Nobita's best friend. The pocket on his belly is a 4D space from which many gadgets emerge (e.g., Bamboo Copter, Anywhere Door, etc.).

Male. He has a crush on Shizuka. A weakling and a crybaby, he is Doraemon's best friend. He is poor at studying, has low stamina, and is bad at sports.

While she is strongly perceived as Nobita's future partner now, in the very early original works and lower-grade editions, she appeared more as just a neighborhood kid since the romantic subplot wasn't well-developed. She played with the boys like a typical tomboy and sometimes ignored or teased Nobita playfully, positioning her more as a neighborhood acquaintance than a heroine. The fact that she often hangs out with boys like Nobita, Gian, and Suneo in the vacant lot rather than just with other girls might be a remnant of this. In early episodes, unlike now, she is seen not being embarrassed even when seeing a boy naked. However, as the series continued, she needed to become a character Nobita could fall for, and as a result, she gradually became more feminine while taking on a characterization that represents the main quintet. She is the character whose art style has changed the most since the 1979 version. If you only know the middle or newer versions, you can recognize the others in the old version, but Shizuka is hard to distinguish. Of course, while showing heroine traits, she occasionally prioritizes other things over Nobita. For example, when Suneo excludes only Nobita to play with Gian and Shizuka, she has followed Suneo without much thought several times. Still, as time passes, scenes have appeared where she defends him, saying, "Then I won't go either," if Suneo tries to leave Nobita out. There are also episodes where Nobita tells her it's okay and to go play anyway when she acts this way.

One of the five main characters, he is Nobita's classmate. His family isn't quite a conglomerate, but they are very wealthy, and he is a 'silver spoon' young master who grew up in a grand mansion under parents who adore him. He has a complex about being short and is a narcissist with strong pride and a desire for self-display. He praises his own face in front of the mirror every day. As the son of a CEO who runs several companies, he is the classic rich kid character. Consequently, he often brags to Nobita and his friends, though in reality, about half of it is greatly exaggerated. The problem is that his personality is so boastful and arrogant that he triggers jealousy and inferiority in his friends—especially Nobita—by telling them they'll never get opportunities like he does, acting as a catalyst for trouble in each episode. In particular, whenever the neighborhood bully Gian uses violence against classmates, Suneo acts as his right-hand man, helping him bully those weaker than himself.

As his name suggests, he is large and very sturdy, and since he is the best fighter among his peers, he is called the neighborhood bully. Being the boss of the backstreets, he is self-centered and violent, occupying a position similar to an antagonist that the local kids fear, but he is very weak against his mother. Surprisingly, he has a deep love for his younger sister. He has a soft spot for acts of friendship or love and, like Nobita, has a side that is prone to tears. He loves to sing but is incredibly tone-deaf, and his voice is so loud (around 120 decibels) that just hearing it causes immense pain. However, he is proud of his singing and wants to keep sharing it with those around him. Because of this, he often holds recitals and forces the other children to attend. Between those 'Gian Recitals,' wielding violence against weaker friends like Nobita and Suneo, and other nuisances, he is frequently scolded by his mother and teacher for things like skipping out on watching the shop, making deliveries, or weeding, as well as for getting zeros on his tests.

He met Nobita one day, but at that time, he was startled by Nobita and disappeared somewhere; later, he transferred to Nobita's school. In fact, Luka is a mysterious being called an Espal.

Luka's older sister. She is kind and diligent. She possesses powers and is a Moon Rabbit Espal. Female.

The villain. Male. Extremely powerful. A robot. He considers Luna and Luka to be nothing more than batteries.
