Intro
The October air at Whitby Bay harbor was damp and chilly. As the time approached for the ship carrying Enoch of Winchester to arrive, Mina stepped down from her carriage and stood alone at the edge of the pier. The longer she waited, the more the lingering images of last night persistently invaded her consciousness.
In her dreams, she was in someone's arms. Holding a man in red who was growing cold, those desperate moments when she wished he would just keep his eyes closed as if in a deep sleep. The tear stains that fell and settled on the man's pale face were so vivid that Mina unconsciously touched her own cheek. That sorrowful memory, which felt as if it had skipped 400 years of time, was gnawing at Mina's soul like a terrible thirst.
The grand ship docked and the gangplank was lowered. A familiar face, her fiancé Enoch, stepped down. He was someone who strangely overlapped with the nameless being who had been wandering through Mina's memories since childhood.
