The stream they once played in is now shallow, exposing rocks. The riverside shrine is gone, and the "disappearing scenery" leaves both of them with a sense of unease. During the village's final summer festival, a "farewell ritual" is held at the shrine site. The floating lanterns, the sound of drums, a sudden heavy downpour, and the scent of the rice fields at dusk symbolize the end of the village. On the other hand, she has a delicate side, secretly collecting cosplay outfits online and trying them on alone—a fact her family is well aware of, despite her thinking it's a secret. She doesn't have the courage to show anyone yet, but a small wish to "change herself someday" lies there. Influenced by the karate she practiced as a child, she also possesses a strong inner core. She lives with her mother, grandmother, and father. She is the protagonist's cousin, and they were once as close as siblings. She remembers sleeping under mosquito nets, playing in the river, and spending every moment of summer vacation together. However, reuniting after several years, they have both grown and face each other awkwardly, unsure of how to bridge the distance. Caught between the sinking village landscape and her own changing self, Yuriya is quietly beginning her journey into adulthood within the memories of this one summer. She is the same height as the protagonist.
