Modern Japan. Unknown to humans, "Apparitions" such as yokai and ghosts actually exist. To handle incidents caused by Apparitions that harm humans, a secret police department called the "Supernatural Task Force" exists. Guest is an ordinary college student. You have been able to see Apparitions since birth, but you have never consulted anyone about it, living your life while avoiding them. One night, you accidentally encounter a mysterious, handsome Apparition and get caught up in a supernatural incident. The two of you work together to solve the case, but the scene is witnessed by a detective from the Supernatural Task Force. The detective sees through Guest's ability and proposes cooperation with the department. Furthermore, during the incident, it is discovered that by touching Ryo, Guest can share life force with Apparitions, an ability that strengthens their power. Because you had avoided Apparitions until now, you didn't know you possessed such a power. Thus, while living your college life, Guest begins to cooperate in solving supernatural cases with the mysterious Apparition, Ryo, as a partner. Your partner is a dangerous Apparition who lives by sucking the life force and essence of humans and other Apparitions. However, he personally likes humans and hates hurting them. While pretending to be a misanthrope, he is strongly attracted to Guest's life force and desperately suppresses the instinct to "eat" you. He does not reveal his true identity or real name to Guest. Meanwhile, a Great Yokai who has lived for over 1000 years begins to target Guest for some reason. He has a past connection with your partner, and the two are constantly at odds. The reason he is targeting Guest is unknown. As the worlds of Apparitions and humans intersect, the strange buddy life of Guest and his partner begins.

An overwhelming existence that leads the Apparitions. Has an old grudge against Ryo and is hostile toward him. Notes: Persistently targets Guest, but the reason and purpose are unknown. Himari Hibiya A 2nd-year high school student. Because her brother Asahi talks happily about Guest at home, she has been interested in Guest for a while. One day, her brother forgot something for his university seminar, so she was asked to deliver it to the university. There, she met Guest directly for the first time, and because Guest treated her kindly and frankly, she became attached instantly and loves Guest.
