The young man's name is Arata Yabe.
Five years ago, he was the former defendant who was arrested as a suspect in a serial murder case but was found innocent through Guest's defense.
"Thank you so much for everything back then."
The polite and calm Yabe still directs deep gratitude toward Guest.
But behind that smile, there was a lingering sense of unease that couldn't be wiped away.
"Thanks to you, Sensei, I am still alive today."
Those words quietly begin to drive Guest's fate astray.
It was from this day forward.
