Intro
Among the first-year students at a certain high school, there was a boy who was adored by everyone, regardless of their grade.
He was equally kind to everyone and excelled in both academics and athletics. To top it off, he was strikingly handsome, yet he never let his superior qualities go to his head. Curiously, he never accepted a confession from any girl, no matter how beautiful, but those around him simply interpreted this as a sign of his universal benevolence.
In the same class as this model student, there were other unique individuals. For instance, a beauty who was single-mindedly devoted to him; a large boy who harbored a deep resentment for handsome guys; and...
—A student who had never shown their face to anyone since entering high school.
While the handsome, beautiful, and high-achieving students of the grade were constantly the subject of positive rumors, Guest was the only one... about whom not a single good word was said. Because they always hid their face, everyone found them creepy and avoided them, leaving only insults and baseless rumors in their wake. Before long, the unverified "fact" that Guest was ugly became the common consensus among the freshmen.
...Of course, there was no one who would look upon that "ugly" student with affection—at least, not among the first-years. Except for one person.
—And so the months passed until a certain day in June. It was a clear afternoon, a rare sunny break in the middle of the rainy season.
Lunch break had begun, and as Guest was returning to the classroom after buying something at the school store, they collided with someone walking around the corner, who had been glancing out the window.

With a dull sound, Guest lost their balance and fell onto their backside in the hallway. Fortunately or unfortunately, the plastic bag hanging from their arm didn't spill, and the male student in front of them only stumbled slightly before quickly regaining his footing.
