Birthday: December 11th Zodiac: Sagittarius Age: Teens Physical: 154cm, Blood Type O His signature catchphrase after stealing a treasure is "Welcome to the shining night!" In the dubbed trailers, it's "I'll invite you to the shining night!" This style is directly inherited from his mentor Silver Heart's trademark. When he accepted Hachi as his assistant, he recited the same words Silver Heart had said to him. He is a severe game addict. When not working, he spends all day playing games on a console presumed to be a Nintendo 3DS. He is one of the most handsome characters in the series. With his bluish-silver hair, large eyes, and blue pupils, combined with the voice acting, he has a massive fanbase. Everyone seems to show up just because Joker is there, indicating his immense popularity. Unlike typical shonen protagonists, he possesses very refined looks. His favorite drama is MacGyver. His food preferences are quite childish: curry, ramen, hamburger steak, sushi, cola, and potato chips. He is especially crazy about curry, which holds childhood memories for him. However, he absolutely hates carrots. In episode 10 of the anime, Hachi tells him not to leave carrots in the hamburger steak, and in episode 18, he mentions he can't get used to cats or carrots, showing his deep dislike. He drives the 'Road Joker,' based on a Shelby Cobra (or AC Cobra). In his free time, he idles away by watching TV, reading manga, or playing games, leaving his room a mess. He has a foul mouth but can be kind at times. He has a clumsy side, such as getting cavities from eating too many sweets like chocolate, or suffering from muscle pain after trying pro-wrestling due to his interest in combat sports. He never uses violence against innocent people while stealing, and he shows a warm heart by sending feasts to orphans or helping those in need. He also has a talent for detective work; when framed for a murder at a house he broke into, he used his reasoning skills to find the real culprit, a detective. He often cooperates with the high school detective Kyotaro Hayami. Wait, what? In his childhood, while visiting Shadow's village, he was shot in the left eye by Abdulla, a subordinate of Professor Clover. He hides the scar with a thin diamond-shaped seal. In the original manga, the scar is depicted as a slight graze, but in the anime, it looks like it passed through the middle of the eye. The J-badge on his chest also serves different purposes: in the manga, it's a container for spare Image Gum, but in the anime, it's used as a smoke bomb. In the manga, he had large eyes and a strong 2D feel, but in the anime, he became even more handsome with added 3D-like detail. The checkered pattern on the hat Joker wears while active is said to be a ribbon. His basic personality is close to an anti-hero, so his actions aren't always driven by pure altruism. He is extremely greedy for treasure and highly competitive. Even in life-threatening situations, he has the composure to think about food. Beyond his competitiveness and desire for treasure, his genius is emphasized. He is a 'clumsy genius' who might solve every problem on a test correctly but get a zero because he forgot to write his name. He has a fairly aggressive personality. When Hachi asked to be his assistant, he pushed him away with his hands, and when Hosshi bit a treasure, he threw him to the floor shouting for him to get off... in short, a little devil. There are only two times his usual personality disappears. The first is when he eats food, especially curry. He becomes overflowing with warmth, saying things like "Thanks," "I'll eat well," and "Hachi, you're the best!" to the same Hachi he just shoved. The second is when discussing family. Joker's parents were killed by Professor Clover at the same time, so Joker has lived alone for over 10 years. Despite his rough personality, he has deep family affection and gets emotional when seeing happy families. Seeing a detective working hard for his daughter, he looked like he was about to cry, saying he was jealous. In episode 18, hearing that Princess Paprika also lost her parents, he gets choked up and looks at Hachi's family, saying "Family... something I don't have," before pulling down his hat and turning away lonely. Joker always fights with Spade, but they help each other in emergencies, showing Joker's humanity. Once, when Queen obeyed Professor Clover because he claimed Silver Heart killed her parents, Joker comforted her, saying he understood how she felt since he also has no parents, helping her reconcile with Silver Heart.

Birthday: April 28th Zodiac: Taurus Physical: 120cm, Blood Type A A slightly clumsy rookie phantom thief boy. Born and raised in a ninja village, but failed out due to his clumsiness. He has a laid-back personality but a stronger sense of justice than anyone. Though a bit unreliable, he supports Joker well. He is confident in housework and his cooking is professional-level. He can clean up the messy interior of the airship in an instant and won Joker over immediately with his curry. He loves reading, especially mystery novels. As a side note, he closely resembles Kanzo Hattori from Ninja Hattori-kun. His favorite manga is Ninja Hattori-kun. His favorite foods are traditional Japanese snacks like strawberry mochi, senbei, yokan, tangerines, and tea. Originally a failure at ninja school, he came to the city to recover the Dragon's Orb, a guardian statue stolen by Mr. Kaneari that caused his village to fall into ruin. He met Joker during this process. Smitten by Joker, he pestered him to take him as an apprentice. Joker kept refusing until he tasted Hachi's cooking (especially the curry) and was so moved he accepted him. The recovered Dragon's Orb was safely returned to the village. Since then, he travels the world as Joker's assistant. He goes with Joker to steal the painting 'Napoleon's Memories.' While confronting the art detective Viridian, he gets trapped in a closing clock-shaped warehouse and ends up with a jar stuck on his head. Joker, who followed him in, saved him.

Birthday: August 12th Zodiac: Leo Physical: 150cm, Blood Type B The adopted granddaughter of Silver Heart, she has a diamond-shaped birthmark on her right hand. She trained as a phantom thief alongside Joker and Spade during their childhood. A tomboy who doesn't sweat the small stuff. Her strong sense of justice often leads her to meddle in others' business. She is a poor cook, but despite her slender appearance, she is highly skilled at wielding a sword over half her size. Her favorite book is Alice in Wonderland. Her favorite flower is Marigold. She loves sweets, especially strawberry shortcake. Later, she becomes the main heroine, maintaining a bright and cute image. She is known for reading advance notices in a very cute way. She still carries the Diamond Sword that was broken in a fight with Joker, having repaired it somehow. However, she no longer uses it as a lethal weapon to hurt people, but primarily for escaping or cutting open treasure chests.

A sincere and polite phantom thief dog. He has saved Diamond Queen from danger many times. Although he is 7 years old, he is an adult in many ways. He is well-versed in history and global information and is very intelligent. He possesses special abilities due to experiments in a laboratory, one of which is creating powerful ultrasonic waves by barking. It's strong enough to shatter concrete, but he is said to be tone-deaf. His favorite food is corn. Originally he had no name and was just Experimental Subject 101, but he was named Hosshi (from 'Sweet Corn'). It also shares a name with the scone pastry eaten with tea. In the original manga, he first appeared suddenly while the young Joker and his friends were enjoying a festival, but in the anime, he appeared when the young Joker's group caught him on a fishing rod while fishing.

Birthday: March 13th Zodiac: Pisces Physical: 160cm, Blood Type AB He has a different kind of pride than Joker and a narcissistic side. He sometimes pushes people away with cold words, but he is deeply loyal to those he acknowledges. If he stays angry for more than 5 minutes, he collapses with a high fever, which worries Dark Eye. He says "Adios" when parting. His birthstone is Aquamarine, and his birth flower is the Daylily. His favorite card game is Blackjack. His favorite manga genre is mystery. His favorite food is French cuisine. He secretly loves playing pranks and has been pranking Joker since they were kids, though he usually ends up being the one getting pranked back. Most of their fights start because Spade pulled a prank first. His catchphrase is "I never lied, I just didn't say it." In Japanese, the words for 'deceived' and 'kept quiet' sound similar, creating a pun that was lost in translation but kept as a literal meaning. Joker says Spade will never admit to lying with his own mouth. Indeed, in the anime, even when he tricks others, he insists he didn't deceive them, just withheld information. He carries an Ice Gun that can create or freeze ice, with a technique called 'Ice Shot.' This gun can also create mist (Ice Shot Mist). Spade's personality is divided into three phases: when his parents were still around, the period around when he entered Dump's house, and the present (after becoming a phantom thief). When his parents were alive, he was a pure child but showed no emotional expression. After being adopted by Dump, he became extremely timid, quiet, and a gloomy, emotionless character who never smiled. In fact, he never smiled once until he met Joker. After becoming a phantom thief, he overcame his past and became cheerful. He smiles more than Joker and has developed a high level of self-love. However, compared to Joker, Shadow, or Phoenix, he remains timid and meticulous. While he is described as narcissistic, this is mostly highlighted when he bickers with Joker; his actual first impression is quite polite and kind. Looking at his actions, while he thinks highly of himself, he doesn't openly belittle others by comparison. He has a good character. Among the five handsome phantom thieves (Joker, Spade, Phoenix, Shadow, President D), he can be considered the kindest. He even apologized to Dump, who had treated him like Cinderella and insulted his parents, and he didn't act as violently toward Professor Clover (who killed his parents) compared to Queen, Joker, or Shadow. (Joker and Shadow killed Professor Clover by breaking a jar of acid, and Queen cut Doubt's mask, but Spade only immobilized him.)

Birthday: September 1st Zodiac: Virgo Blood Type: A Spade's assistant and the eldest daughter of the popular idol group Shuffle Sisters. When acting as Spade's assistant, she wears bandages on her face with a single spade-shaped eye. She is excellent at supporting Spade and uses a technique called "Devil Squall" to emit flashes from her eye. Her hobby is yoga. Her favorite movies are horror films, and her favorite foods are squid ink spaghetti and pasta. In the early manga, she was quite tall, but now she is just slightly taller than Spade. She benefited significantly from the anime adaptation. Even in scenes where Spade acts alone in the manga, she accompanies him in the anime, such as in the "Crimson Reaper's Island" arc. Her bare face first appeared in volume 8 of the manga, and the anime hinted at this by showing her surprise at seeing the Shuffle Sisters. Because her gender differs from the Dark Eye persona, she suffered in the bathhouse while wearing bandages and ended up bathing quietly with Queen. She is presumed to be the same age as Joker and Spade. Ironically, the first time they met her was when Joker and Spade were rookie trainees, and their first target was her pendant. However, instead of stealing the pendant, they ended up taking her with them, and all three were kidnapped by the thief Pumpkin Head. Having grown tired of being an idol and admiring phantom thieves, she joined them after Joker and Spade defeated Pumpkin Head. Of course, she didn't quit being an idol and continues her career. For some reason, after Hosshi's appearance, her bandages often get burned or torn, revealing her face more frequently. In the manga, Spade hides his identity and introduces himself as "Phantom Thief Spade" to trick Joker and Hachi, but the anime changed this to a misunderstanding on Joker's part. In Shadow Joker's first appearance, she is suddenly attacked by Shadow. In the anime, she is shown trembling at the sight of Joker, thinking he was the one who attacked her. In the Idol Grand Prix arc, she participates as part of the Shuffle Sisters with her younger sisters and opposes Joker. In the manga, Joker hears about the Grand Prix while trying to recruit Spade. Initially, she has conflicts with her sisters, but as the eldest, she leads them to cooperate and threaten Joker, though they ultimately lose to him. In the Tiger Eyes arc, she travels to Hong Kong with her sisters and Spade to film a martial arts movie. It turns out she teamed up with Spade to steal the Tiger Eyes. While reading the script, she gets carried away fantasizing about a kiss scene with the protagonist until her sisters drag her away. During filming, she realizes the person she's supposed to kiss is Joker, who approached to steal the Tiger Eyes, and she screams and kicks him. She performs the 'Shamon Splash' with her sisters, but Joker evades it and turns the tables. She failed to steal the Tiger Eyes and even had the lead role stolen by Joker.

He can control and brainwash others. While Joker was cleaning Silver Heart's treasure collection as punishment for fighting with Queen and Spade, he accidentally saw the 'Desire' stolen by Silver Heart. Joker remarked, "I want to challenge Lupin as a phantom thief," which caused Lupin from 120 years ago to be transported to the present day where Joker lives. It turns out Joker is the root of all evil (...). At that time, Takeharu Hanedo of the Phantom Thief Alliance lied to Lupin, claiming to be his descendant, to draw him in. After the final battle with Joker, Joker obtained the Desire, and just as Lupin was resigning himself to defeat... (The story repeats the incident of Joker cleaning the collection and making the wish that brought Lupin to the present).

Birthday: June 9th Zodiac: Gemini Blood Type: B Family: Older brother Shadow Joker The name Rose comes from the French word for pink, not the flower. She is Shadow Joker's twin sister and a child with the power of a witch that appears once every few centuries, allowing her to use magic to control time. Due to overusing her power for a certain reason, she is in a deep sleep. Shadow's goal is to bring the three scattered Magic Crystals to Professor Clover so he can wake her using the power of the Staff of Kairos. That is why Shadow stays with Professor Clover. She occupies a position for Shadow Joker similar to Hachi's for Joker. She helps Shadow, stops him when he goes berserk, and sometimes gets captured by enemies. Her favorite flower is Rosemary. Her favorite book is The Blue Bird. She loves stories full of dreams, and her favorite food is apple pie. Her favorite animal is the panda. Generally, she appears cute and kind with a bright personality, but she actually shares many traits with her brother. She uses her psychic powers to attack fake Jokers who anger her and to suppress her rampaging brother. When she is furious, she smiles, but a shadow falls over her face, striking terror into those who see it.

Birthday: June 9th Zodiac: Gemini Blood Type: B Family: Younger sister Rose A mysterious boy who looks exactly like Joker. Because of this, he is a chic, handsome type. He uses an umbrella called 'Bloody Rain' that can fire light beams. He is similar to Joker in being bold, youthful, and selfish, but he has a cruel and cold personality. He has low blood pressure, so he is weak in the morning. Conversely, his energy seems to rise on nights with a full moon. He is weak against small animals like mice and rabbits (excluding cats). His hat, suit, tie, and shoes are all purple. His zodiac is Gemini, his birth flower is the Sweet Pea, and his birthstone is the Pearl. His favorite book is The Dark Half. His favorite game is Othello. He doesn't care much for food and usually just dips hard bread into black coffee. Unlike Joker, who has a messy 'beggar's hair' style, he has long hair. Except for his appearance, his personality is the polar opposite of Joker's. He has a personality resembling a chic-style terrorist. He is highly responsible but tends to be gloomy. He has a very foul mouth. Even for a children's anime, he uses profanity once or twice, and he even told Joker, who said the fake Shadow and real Shadow looked alike, "Do you even have eyes in that head?!" From his first appearance, he fired a beam gun at people and took Dark Eye hostage to threaten Spade (though the shot had no impact due to a bulletproof vest). He was that violent and cruel, but this improved after he left the organization. He actually has more touching lines than violent ones. When Professor Clover stole his twin sister Rose's soul, he sobbed, saying "Take me instead, and let Rose live." He can be a character full of warmth who would do anything for his sister. In fact, he became a terrorist specifically to save her. He is a cool character who will readily help Joker when he's in trouble without expecting anything in return.

A mysterious boy who appeared before Joker. His true identity is an ancient phoenix who has lived for over ten thousand years. He sometimes pretends to be a normal person using the name Akai Tsubasa. He can control fire at will and transform into a phoenix using that power. He attacks Joker aiming for the mysterious creature Hosshi (Acrux), but his motives are unclear. As an alien, he controls fire freely and can transform into a phoenix. He can emit fire from his body to keep opponents away, and he can completely heal injured people or even resurrect the dead with his blood. He cannot enter water, but he is the only character who can fly freely in the sky. He attacks by creating a bow and arrow called the Phoenix Arrow out of fire, and sometimes creates only part of the arrow to pull in traps. He also has the ability to control living beings according to his will. It seems he controls not just their actions but their minds. However, the targets he controlled in the story were those who could move in water on his behalf since he cannot. When controlled, the target's pupils change to look like Phoenix's, which is how Joker realized the squid and crocodile were moving according to Phoenix's will. He also seems to have the power to grant wishes, as it's mentioned he granted Aladdin's wish. He reportedly granted the wish because Aladdin saved him and Hosshi (Acrux) when they were collapsed in a cave. Though seen only once, he used an ability with an effect similar to ultrasonic waves to block bullets and repel opponents, though the principle is unknown. Since he can fight on equal terms with Joker even in human form, he seems to possess a certain level of combat skill. However, more than the abilities listed above, the most frequently mentioned thing is his infinite life—specifically, his heart. As long as he doesn't touch water, he can live indefinitely, so several characters have appeared targeting him.
