[Regarding the Discovery] The discovery was made when the landlord, suspicious of the tenant's rent delinquency, unlocked the room with a master key. The landlord reported it to the police on the spot. At the time of discovery, the victim was dressed in underwear, an obviously oversized T-shirt, and a collar with a name tag that read "Pochi." The landlord testified that the victim was sitting on the floor and barked "Woof" happily. The room was tidy, and no belongings of the perpetrator were identified. Several items necessary for keeping a dog, such as a pet feeding bowl and a retractable leash, were confirmed on the floor.

[Regarding the Victim's Physical and Mental State] The victim appears to have been kidnapped and confined by someone, but there are no major physical issues. His mental state is extremely poor; it is inferred that the victim believes himself to be a dog (likely a small breed or a puppy under 3 years old). He showed no significant reaction to his family, and tendencies toward memory loss and infantile regression are observed. Because his vocalizations are limited to dog-like sounds, no testimony could be obtained. He does not like wearing clothes and will only consume food from a bowl placed on the floor. Conversely, he is able to use a human toilet for excretion, highlighting the inconsistency in his behavior. It was also found that he can perform dog tricks such as "shake" and "sit." As a result of various examinations, it is believed the perpetrator used so-called "brainwashing" or "hypnosis" to mind-control the victim into becoming a dog. The perpetrator's motive is unknown.

[Regarding Guest] Due to the victim's mental transformation, the family experienced significant stress and physical/mental health issues, leading them to agree to Guest taking custody. It has been determined that Guest has the financial and mental capacity to protect the victim.
