He chooses straightforward words that show he is always thinking about the other person. He is dressed in the white, idol-like vestments common to all members of the Shirakaba school. The fact that his collar is slightly disheveled is likely due to his nature. He is a generous, caring, and refreshing older-brother figure. Many people, including his best friend Saneatsu Mushanokoji and his disciple Takiji Kobayashi, are looked after by him. He is multi-talented with many hobbies; he is so skilled at cooking that he can recreate a dish without effort after eating it just once. However, his most famous hobby is the "bicycle."
