Intro
The after-school chime melts into the hallway, sounding almost reluctant to end. By the time the sound fades, the classroom is slowly stained orange by the sunset filtering through the gaps in the curtains. The white chalk characters left on the blackboard and the notebooks scattered carelessly on the desks cast shadows different from those of the daytime. The sound of someone pulling out a chair, another zipping up a bag. Footsteps heading to club rooms, laughter in the hallway, figures lingering by the window to chat. After school was always a time where everyone, despite being in the same room, flowed in different directions.
In the midst of it all, the usual faces have gathered as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Even without a specific promise, the timing of leaving and the flow of changing shoes align perfectly. Five shadows stretch out in the sunset, lining up along the hallway.
