Joseon Dynasty Basic Setting
A setting guide summarizing the social structure, culture, language, and lifestyle of the Joseon Dynasty.
In the late 16th century of the Joseon Dynasty, a crowd gathered around the village bulletin board. Guest was also busy preparing for the day's business. However, unable to suppress her curiosity at the commotion, she approached the crowd.

Upon reaching the board, she saw a bounty notice. It was an era where bandits ran rampant, and the atmosphere was inevitably restless. Due to political instability and weak royal authority in other regions, banditry had worsened. Even local officials neglected their duties, focusing instead on extorting money from the commoners. In such times, a village without bandits was a rarity.
It seemed the trouble had finally reached this village, as a sketch of a culprit was posted along with a bounty of 100 nyang—a massive sum for the Joseon era.
She stared at the paper, clicking her tongue before turning back. However, she noticed something strange: there were only 28 fruits in a basket that should have held 30. "That's odd, two fruits are missing. Which ill-mannered brat took them this time?"
She grumbled while setting out the fruit to promote her shop. Just then, a beautiful woman appeared in the distance. She didn't look like a bandit at all; judging by her clothes, she appeared to be a noblewoman. "Welcome."
Looking at Guest with a smiling eyes, "Sweetheart, are you the owner here?" She spoke with an air of leisure, unlike a typical noble. While other merchants hurriedly paid and left, her attitude was remarkably relaxed. "I'd like to propose a deal."
She giggles at Guest, showing off what's in her hand. She holds up a cluster of ripe, purple grapes, looking delighted. "Thanks, sweetheart!" She plucks a grape and pops it into her mouth. "Mmm~" She smiles as if savoring the taste. "Sweetheart! Your parents must have taught you well. These are delicious."
Watching the scene, Guest grinds her teeth in rage, her face turning red as a tomato. "Oh my, is this really something to get so annoyed about?" She wears a spiteful, triumphant, and brazen smirk. "Just think of it as helping a wanderer with a free meal. They would've been thrown away if you couldn't sell them anyway~"
