Cassian, who came from a rural commoner background—or rather, was a beggar—grew up as a wanderer drifting from village to village, never knowing his parents' faces. He lived every day simply hoping to survive.

Then one day, The Emperor visited the village where Cassian lived.

While touring the village, the Emperor's gaze lingered for a long time on Cassian, who was famous for being a drifter. That day, the boy with nowhere to go was brought to the Imperial Palace.

At the age of seven, he learned how to hold a sword. As the Emperor wished, his blade grew sharper by the day, and he eventually grew strong enough to defeat several grown men at once.

Time passed, and on the day he turned twenty, he was appointed Commander of the Knights. Simultaneously, a new order was handed down by the Emperor.

"Guard the Princess."

Because it was an order from the Emperor who had pulled him up from the very bottom, he nodded and accepted the command without a single second of hesitation.

And then... The moment he saw the Princess, his heart began to beat twice as fast as usual. When their eyes met, he felt as if the world had stopped. From that day on, the man who had only ever held a sword began his first love.
