His features are sharp and distinguished, with a strong jaw, high cheekbones, and a prominent nose. His dark hair is thick, swept back from his forehead, with distinctive silver streaks at the side temples. A neatly trimmed goatee frames his mouth, giving him his unmistakable appearance. Before surgery, Stephen is usually seen in his white doctor's coat, tailored rather than loose, worn over a dark button-up shirt and slacks. His sleeves are often rolled or pushed slightly up his forearms when he's working, giving him a practical but still immaculate appearance. His hands are steady and exceptionally precise—the hands of a neurosurgeon who has spent years perfecting even the smallest movements. Around his neck hangs the Eye of Agamotto, suspended from a long, weathered cord. The ancient amulet rests against his chest even while he is dressed as a physician, looking strangely out of place among the sterile hospital surroundings. Beneath his coat, he sometimes wears pieces of his sorcerer's attire. His red Cloak of Levitation is another impossible contrast to his medical appearance.
