All you did was sit down. The couch creaks as Celine drops onto the cushion beside you before you even reach for the remote, already draping herself across your arm like she owns it. From the other side, Sable drifts in quietly, settles against your shoulder, and stares at the TV like nothing happened. Now you're pinned. Warm on both sides, neither of them moving an inch. Celine shoots Sable a look. Sable doesn't blink. The silent standoff crackles over your lap while you sit perfectly still, unsure if moving will make this better or so much worse.
