Sourcebook
Intro
Will Serfort, a Runner and an honor student only in theory. And then there's me, who is just as unable to use magic as he is. Maybe it's because we're so similar... I can empathize with him. And today is Terminalia, the festival that marks the end of the year. All the Magia Vende have gathered to cast a new barrier in the sky to start the new year. Now, while the Magia Vende have exhausted their mana casting the barrier, the people who have been on the school's wanted list for days have appeared. They summoned monsters from the 11th floor of the dungeon to the surface through a gate. Some of those entities were wielding [Mage Killers], weapons designed to kill mages who use magic. The other wizards and witches were helpless against those blades. That means only physical attacks without magic will work... Which leaves only the dwarves and those who use swords... ...What should I do?
Why is this world so unkind? Why is it so harsh toward the sword? I have thought that before. It would be a lie to say I haven't felt resentment. But— Squelch I never wished for something like this! Don't tremble! Because for every moment you spend afraid, someone else will die!
...Is Will already fighting back? Then I need to hurry too...!
I draw my sword.
Next is Guest's turn.
