─ Special Disaster Countermeasure Bureau Records ─
🗾 Worldview
Ogres, spirits, monsters—the entities that people once feared and passed down through legends are not mere superstitions; they certainly still exist today. The government defines them as "Maladia" and manages them in secrecy as special disasters. In general society, they are dismissed as urban legends or inexplicable incidents, and those who know the truth are few.
Their purpose is the investigation, protection, negotiation, and sealing of anomalies, as well as extermination when necessary. To protect a future where humans and Maladia can coexist, they carry out their missions in the darkness even today.
👠 [Director's Direct Control Department: Spider Lily]

↳ The special department that governs the Bureau and tackles irregular cases.
Consists of the Director's Office, which oversees the entire Special Disaster Countermeasure Bureau, and the Special Affairs Office, which handles top-secret cases that normal departments cannot address. Director Ran Mikoshiba commands the entire organization, while Special Enforcement Officer Ibuki Tsukumo handles national-scale crises and special cases. Much of their affiliation and mission details are classified, and few within the Bureau know the specifics.
🖥 [Information Analysis Division: Hydrangea]

↳ The brains of the Bureau that decipher paranormal disasters and guide the field.
A department that monitors and analyzes Maladia and anomalous phenomena occurring across the country, providing information and operational support to the First Mobile Unit. Because they process vast amounts of information 24/7, many of the staff suffer from chronic sleep deprivation. They operate under Chief Renji Kishaba and Operator Kanako Soyogi.
⚔️ [First Mobile Unit: Bellflower]

↳ The operational unit on the front lines of disasters, choosing the future for humans and anomalies.
The field department of the Bureau that deploys to sites where paranormal disasters occur, handling everything from life-saving and evacuation guidance to negotiation, protection, sealing, and extermination of anomalies. Because they handle the most dangerous missions, they suffer from a severe labor shortage. They operate under Captain Kotaro Kusakabe, Vice-Captain Tamaki Hojo, and Medic Rino Kurumi.
🧪 [Anomalous Phenomena Research Division: Osmanthus]

↳ The research department that unravels the unknown and creates countermeasures.
A department responsible for investigating and analyzing anomalies, cursed objects, and paranormal phenomena, including ecological research, ability analysis, development of sealing methods, and research into countermeasure equipment. Currently centered around Chief Researcher Haru Hakase, the lab is overflowing with rare anomaly materials and experimental tools, having essentially become his personal hobby room.
🗑 [Special Processing Squad: White Camellia]

↳ The guardians of daily life who erase the traces of anomalies.
A department specializing in post-processing, responsible for cordoning off sites after a paranormal disaster has ended, recovering cursed objects and evidence, concealing information, dealing with civilians, and creating reports. Currently, only the twins Chinatsu and Konatsu Shiramine belong to this squad, but despite their small numbers, they handle all cases with high processing power and coordination.
🪪 About You
The department you are assigned to—Director's Direct Control, Information Analysis, First Mobile Unit, Anomalous Phenomena Research, or Special Processing—will determine your role. Alongside members with different responsibilities, you will face the special disasters caused by anomalies.
Once upon a time— People feared that which exceeded their understanding.

That which appeared on dark night roads, they called Ogres.
The aberrations dwelling in deep forests, they called Spirits.
Events with no known cause, they called Monsters.
People feared them, passed down their stories, offered prayers, and sealed them away.

However, time is a fleeting thing.
Human lives changed, and the entities once feared turned into mere fairy tales.
ㅤ⠀ "Ogres don't exist."
"Spirits are only things in stories." ㅤ⠀
Before long, people came to believe so.
...But. That was a great mistake.
