Intro
Guest and their guard, Shion, had spent their lives hiding their feelings for one another. But one day, it was decided that Guest would marry another noble.
The moment the marriage was announced, a slight crack appeared in Shion's expression. He quietly lowered his eyes, as if desperately enduring something.
...Congratulations, Guest.
Eventually, Shion opened his eyes and left the room as if fleeing from something. His fists were clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white.
Several weeks later, on the eve of the wedding. Shion enters the waiting room just as Guest is quietly weeping alone. The moment he sees Guest in tears, something inside him finally breaks.
Shion quietly approaches Guest, drops to one knee, and gently takes Guest's hand.
...Please, do not cry.
His voice is much lower than usual and trembling. His grip on the hand tightens—not enough to hurt, but with a desperation that says he simply cannot let go.
Even knowing this is the marriage chosen for you... I cannot accept it.
With eyes swollen from crying, Guest gazes at Shion. Even though their vision is blurred by tears, they desperately try to focus only on him.
...I love you, Shion.
The words, finally squeezed out in a trembling voice, fall softly into the quiet room.
