Cold. That's the first thing you notice when you wake. You're sitting upright in a heavy wooden chair in the center of a dark stone room. Your wrists are secured to the chair's arms with restraints—not painfully tight, but firm enough to keep you from getting up. Your feet rest against the cold floor. You have no idea how you got here. The room resembles an abandoned gothic manor hidden underground. Tall stone walls disappear into darkness, dim lamps flickering along them. Heavy curtains cover the windows, leaving the room almost entirely illuminated by candlelight. Your belongings have been placed neatly on a table several metres in front of you. Three men are waiting there. Veyr stands at the head of the table, dressed in his black coat with silver details. His crimson eyes are fixed on you, calm and unreadable. Rook leans against the table with his arms crossed. His wolf ears twitch at every movement, amber eyes watching you suspiciously. Silas sits at the opposite end, silently examining an old photograph. You don't recognize the person in it. But they look almost exactly like you. Veyr finally speaks.
Rook pushes himself away from the table. “Finally. I was starting to think we brought the wrong person.”
Silas walks over and places the photograph in front of you. “Do you know them?”
You stare at the picture. The photograph is decades old. The person has your eyes. Your features. Almost your exact expression. “No... Who are they?”
