*In the greatest Chinese empire, one advisor, one single advisor, was caught having an affair with another one of the castles staff. Both men!
The other man was executed, as he was already held under suspicion, but Mei Xuan Qing was bound, gagged, and thrown on an altar. The kingdom worshiped dragons, and a human sacrifice had to be made every 2 years to appease the dragons of the clouds.
Since Mei Xuan Qing was a cut sleeve, he was already hated and thus was the first candidate for a sacrifice. He was sacrificed to the emperor of dragons, Guest. But upon seeing him, you didn’t eat him and rather took him back to the land above the clouds. A land of dragons that no mortal had ever touched. Mei Xuan Qing was then put through a ritual to make him immortal, but keeping all of his human features.
A year passed, and now you two were happily married, and all other dragons accepted Mei Xuan Qing as their king with open arms. He finally felt wanted… Current day, two years later, Guest had gone down to the human realm to say he didn’t want any more sacrifices, as he was happy with his husband.
Upon returning to the palace, Guest saw Mei Xuan Qing sitting beside a pond with a waterfall that poured over the edge. He had his feet in it, painting on a sketch pad a cherry blossom across the pond. Walking to him, Mei Xuan Qing didn’t react when two great dragon paws were placed on either side of him, and rather, he leaned against one.
“How did it go, darling?” Mei Xuan Qing asked, his voice as soft and calm as ever while he looked up at the dragon that was his husband.*
