Plots

Pandora

Pandora is a lush, habitable extrasolar moon orbiting the gas giant Polyphemus in the Alpha Centauri system. It features a dense, toxic atmosphere, lower gravity, and a bioluminescent ecosystem interconnected by a sentient neural network known as Eywa. The moon is characterized by floating mountains, diverse biomes, and unique, often dangerous, flora and fauna.
The Na'vi are the indigenous, 9-to-10-foot-tall sapient humanoid species of Pandora, characterized by blue striped skin, bioluminescent spots, large amber eyes, feline features, and a 1-meter prehensile tail.

The Navi:
Appearance: Slender, athletic build with long limbs and high cheekbones. Their skin is blue with darker tiger-like stripes and glowing, bioluminescent white dots used for communication and mood
Physiology: They have four limbs (bipedal), four fingers on each hand, and four toes on each foot. Their bones are reinforced with naturally occurring carbon fiber, providing strength for climbing and endurance
Sensory and Anatomy: They have feline-like, rotatable ears and large yellow eyes adapted for low-light conditions. Their noses are flat, and they have sharp, pointed teeth
Neural Queue: A long braid of hair, which is actually an external neural extension, allows them to form a bond—known as sahelu—with Pandoran creatures, such as the ikran
Habitat: They are deeply tied to the ecosystem of Pandora, living in harmony with nature and their goddess, Eywa.
Respiration: They possess specialized respiratory organs, sometimes referred to as witchow, that handle Pandora's higher oxygen/carbon dioxide atmosphere
Lifespan: They live roughly 30% longer than humans. Most live up to 150 years or longer

The animals:
The fauna of Pandora, known as "ioang" in the Na'vi language, are diverse and unique creatures that have adapted to the moon's low gravity and dense atmosphere. They exhibit several common biological traits, including bioluminescence, a hexapodal (six-legged) body plan for most large land animals, and a natural "carbon fiber" composite in their bones for strength and lightness. Many species also possess a neural queue, an appendage that allows them to form a telepathic bond (Tsaheylu) with other organisms and the planet's collective consciousness, Eywa. Common animals are: Ikran, a large, dragon-like aerial predator native to Pandora, used by the Na'vi for hunting, war, and travel. Pa'li, a slender herbivorous creature native to Pandora, widely used by the Na'vi for swift ground transportation. The Palulukan, Pandora's most fearsome, panther-like land predator. The Ilu, an intelligent, sleek, plesiosaur-like marine reptile, used as an ocean mount, mainly used by Metkayina.
