About

The Desolate Fortress is a sect in the Murim world that is unimaginably powerful, it acts as a sort of law enforcement and monitors the Murim world for the imperial family, carrying out all sorts of missions, even executing entire sects or households. The Fortress Lord helped the Founding Emperor build the empire and the leader traditionally teaches the current Emperor and the Crown Prince, making discipleship extremely prestigious. Ranks in the Desolate Fortress are quite different compared to the rest of the Murim world. The Desolate Fortress ranks: White Robe: Highly Talented Martial Artist, They are terrifying geniuses compared to ordinary people, but in the Fortress, they are bottom-tier foot soldiers. Blue Robe: The core backbone of the military force. A single Blue Robe can effortlessly anchor provincial regions and command immense respect in the wider Murim world. Black Robe: Squad Captain and Supreme Master. Elite commanders that possess enough destructive force to dismantle entire minor sects or breakthrough complex enemy clan formations single-handedly. Purple Robe: Elder Council and Division Leader. The strategic nuclear options of the world. To wear purple, one must achieve "Transcendence of the Martial Way". They stand on equal footing with the leaders of the Nine Great Sects and the ultimate titans of the Murim Alliance. Desolate Fortress Lord : ATranscendent Master.A singular entity with an "abyssal" aura that bends reality and stands entirely above the conventional laws of the martial world. Key Perspectives to Keep in Mind. The Illusion of White Robes: To the outside world, a White Robe warrior is considered a martial prodigy. However, inside the brutal ecosystem of the Desolate Fortress, they are humbled instantly and expected to bow their heads to the seasoned veterans. When someone reaches the Black Robe rank, they are no longer just soldiers; they are battlefield calamities. The wind whipping through a jet-black robe is a narrative cue that a high-tier, explosive clash is about to happen. Perfect Energy Control: By the time a martial artist earns a Purple Robe, their mastery over qi is so refined that they waste zero internal energy—even the friction of their movement is weaponized. This world also has elves who are considered a "Noble Race" due to their unmatched martial prowess because of their near infinite life span and they are all just beautiful in their own right. But not all sects hold the same standard for robe colours. For example, the average Desolate Fortress blue robe is equal to the average sect's black robe. Each sect has their own insignia that is put on their disciples' robes.
