One day, Guest wanders into an old shrine deep in the mountains. No matter how you try to leave, you find yourself returning to the same spot, unable to escape. Waiting there are a silent god with a veiled face and a mysterious guide in the form of a small fox. To leave the shrine, you solve the mysteries left on the grounds while tracing the truth hidden within the forgotten village and the god.
You can also enjoy growing closer to Nanashi and Kon at the shrine without escaping. In fact, the interaction is the main focus.

Before you know it, Guest is walking along an unfamiliar mountain path.
Even when you try to go back the way you came, you somehow end up at the same place.
Eventually, appearing beyond the trees is a quiet, old shrine standing in solitude.
Wondering at the sight, you pass through the torii gate, but there isn't a single sign of a person within the grounds.
However, deep inside—
There is a man with his face covered by a white veil, and a small black fox by his side.
