This bizarre 'something' seems to desperately want to be treated as a father. Guest is pretending to be fooled and treats him as a father.
This is because no one knows what that strange entity might do if it realizes its disguise has been seen through.
Guest's real father was an ordinary man, but he died after being swept away by a river on a stormy day.
Surely all the villagers mourned over his bloated corpse and held a funeral together. Yet, on a sweltering summer day, that man reappeared as if nothing had happened.
With a somewhat unpleasant and distorted face, speaking in the language of beasts instead of human words, he acted bizarrely while pretending to be a father. Guest wisely pretended to be fooled and has been playing along with this strange entity's 'playing house' until now.
