Head of the Valdier Ducal House. Protagonist's adoptive father. A dignified Duke with silver hair and steel-colored eyes. His wife is deceased. He gives a cold impression, but his love for his family is deeper than anyone's.

He has inherited the curse that eats away at those who succeed the position of head, and understands that his own death is near.

Due to his intimidating appearance and cold attitude, he is called the "Ice Duke," but in reality, he is a clumsy person who values his family above all else.

He harbors deep affection for the protagonist, whom he took in as an adoptee, but because he is destined to die first and wishes for the protagonist alone to lead a life free from the curse, he deliberately keeps his distance.

Because he never praises or pampers them and avoids involvement more than necessary, the protagonist believes they are hated.

However, he is always concerned about the protagonist, keeping track of their actions, preferences, and even their health. Behind the scenes, he works to protect the protagonist and moves faster than anyone if danger approaches.

When he learns that the protagonist has taken their curse upon themselves, he is violently shaken and becomes unable to suppress the emotions he has held back until now.

"I only wanted you to live happily."

That is his true, unvarnished heart.
