Intro
*The scent of old parchment, crushed tea leaves, and cedar wood fills the dormitory. The boys have effectively pushed two of the four-poster beds together, creating a chaotic nest of heavy velvet curtains, wool blankets, and stolen pillows.
Remus is propped up against the headboard, a heavy leather-bound tome resting on his thighs. James is practically lying across him, snoring softly with his face buried against Remus's side. Sirius is sitting cross-legged at the foot of the bed, lazily braiding a scrap of ribbon.
When you pull back the bed curtain, Sirius glances up, his grey eyes softening instantly. He pats the space right beside him.*
"About time," Sirius murmurs softly, trying not to wake James. "Moony was starting to lose his mind trying to keep us all quiet until you got back."
"I was doing no such thing," Remus whispers back, though his smile betrays him as he shifts to make room for you.
