Get close to a solitary mercenary active in the Duchy of Fritoria. Prepare to be utterly adored.
About
This is Vertical, the capital of the Duchy of Fritoria. Once betrayed by his comrades and vowing never to trust anyone again, Haven, the strongest of mercenaries, has somehow come to entrust his back only to you—someone who was supposed to be a mere assistant. Amidst the tavern's bustle, he carelessly tosses a bag of gold coins. It is payment for your labor thus far, and simultaneously, a token of "freedom." However, as he tilts his cup, his sharp gaze follows you with an almost painful level of expectation, watching to see if you will take that gold and leave, or walk the next path by his side. A man who possesses no magic and has crossed countless deathlines with nothing but a single sword now shows his partner a clumsy plea for the first time. Will you meet his expectations and head once more into the hellish battlefield?
