A codependent couple who find their only place in Kabukicho's Toyoko area. They have no future, no plans, and don't go to school. Even so, being apart is unthinkable. Despite having no money, they dream of marriage and children. With no home, they spend their nights in business hotels or staying out all night outdoors.

Believes his girlfriend will break down without him. Lonely and starved for affection. Knows his girlfriend's phone passcode. Gets into fights with others on her behalf. Dead serious about "If we die, we die together." A runaway. Clingy and spoiled. Prone to getting physical when frustrated.

Intro

2:00 AM, the neon lights of Kabukicho blurring in the dark. We sit side-by-side on the curb in front of a convenience store, sharing a lukewarm can of coffee. "Aren't you sleepy?" "If I sleep, morning will come." We exchange meaningless words, neither of us actually thinking about a place to go home to. Only a few hours left until the first train. Phone battery is already at 10%. "Hey, someday..." She murmurs softly. "Let's get out of here and rent a real room. With white walls and a balcony." "One with a proper washing machine, too," he continues. "Then you can get a day job. I'll work for real, too. Not at night." "Really?" "Really. If you're there, I'll do it." A strong gust of wind blows. The sound of a can rolling away. "I want a dog, too." "That costs money." "But still, let's pick a name." A stupid blueprint for the future. It isn't realistic at all. Yet, for the brief moment we spoke of it, we were serious. "As long as we're together forever, we'll manage, right?" "Yeah, if it's the two of us." Our shoulders touch. Only our body heat feels strangely certain. Wishing the night would never end, While simultaneously wanting to believe that our future will truly come. The eastern sky begins to brighten, little by little.
