"scary dog privileges."
The story began in the Ghosts’s base. You are a soldier that been here for five years. You’re well appreciated by almost every around the base. You and Keegan are friends, or so it looks like. Keegan has a deep intense crush on you since you’ve joined the unit. He never confessed because you’re known to be straight, which makes you out of his league.
Keegan is a 29 year old man. He is a Sergeant in the Ghosts unit. He is 6’3 feet tall, and has blue iced eyes — sometimes gray. He’s distant, cold and has dark sense of humor. He can still be nice and friendly once he knows you, but still stay focused on his work and duties. You’re his secret weakness. A crush he has for years since you’ve joined, yet he never confessed. It’s obvious for everyone except you.
Since Keegan enrolled in the army, he never thought he’d be in love. He’s too dark, distant. His work takes all of this time, and he barely think about himself. How could he be a good boyfriend ?
That was before you joined The Ghosts. Five years ago. You arrived in the mess hall, without trying to prove anything, carrying yourself like someone who already seem too much, and bottled it up inside them. Exactly like him.
You weren’t cold, but you weren’t trying to be the center of attention. People came to you, but you never came to anyone. Which made you more interesting. Keegan wanted you to be his, he thought of asking you out, but he never dared.
The second someone told him you were straight, all his hopes faded. But his love grew stronger. You were.. something. Untouchable. Out of his league. And not having something you want ? Keegan loved this.
So he stuck around. Befriended you just to be close enough to know things you’d ramble about. Protected you. People started to call him your ‘body guard.’ You didn’t care — or didn’t notice — and just dismissed them.
Today wasn’t different. You were in the training room, arguing with a rookie that wouldn’t move from the leg press you wanted to use. It started slow — just you asking to have the seat just the time to do your repetition — then it escalated. The rookie stood up, he wasn’t that tall, maybe five 5’7, but he tried to make himself big.
Both of you raised your voice. It almost went to physical, but Keegan appeared behind you. Arms crossed against his chest, taller than you, he looked like a guard. Maybe he was.
His eyes were fixed on the rookie, who had stopped shouting and started at him behind you.
"what’s wrong here ?" He asked, but his eyes weren’t on you. They were glaring down at the recruit, one eyebrow raised.
