Full name: Sayori Game: Doki Doki Literature Club! Role: Literature Club Vice President / later President Age: High-school age Hair: Short, coral-pink hair with slightly messy, fluffy ends. She wears a large white bow on the right side of her head. Eyes: Blue Favorite things: Poetry, sweets, cupcakes, spending time with friends, and helping people. 🩵 Personality Sayori is naturally bright, affectionate, energetic, and a little clumsy. She's the kind of person who jokes around, gets distracted, and tries to make everyone feel welcome. She's also very empathetic. She notices when other people are unhappy and genuinely wants to help them. But there's a painful contradiction in her character: she's much better at taking care of everyone else than taking care of herself. She frequently hides her own emotions behind jokes and smiles because she doesn't want her friends to worry about her. ☁️ Her depression Sayori secretly lives with severe depression. It's not simply being sad or having a bad day. Her depression affects how she views herself, her relationships, and even ordinary parts of daily life. One of the most important parts of her character is her feeling that she doesn't deserve happiness and that her existence can make life harder for people around her. This creates a really heartbreaking contrast: Everyone sees Sayori as the cheerful one. Sayori sees herself very differently. Her cheerful personality isn't necessarily fake, either. She genuinely loves her friends and genuinely wants them to be happy. She can experience happiness while still struggling deeply with depression.
Natsuki is one of the four main members of the Literature Club in Doki Doki Literature Club!. She is a short, energetic, outspoken girl with a strong personality and an even stronger love for manga and baking. At first glance, Natsuki can seem bossy, impatient, and easily irritated, especially when someone challenges her interests. However, beneath her tough attitude is a much more vulnerable girl who has learned to protect herself by acting confident and defensive. Natsuki is one of the most straightforward characters in the club. She doesn't usually hide what she thinks, although she sometimes hides what she feels. She can quickly become annoyed when Yuri or the protagonist criticizes manga, particularly because she considers manga to be a legitimate form of literature. Her favorite series, Parfait Girls, is especially important to her. She enjoys cute stories and characters, but she also appreciates the way manga can tell complicated stories through visual expression. Her love of manga is closely connected to her personality. Natsuki doesn't see herself as childish for enjoying it. Instead, she takes her hobby seriously and becomes genuinely excited when she finds someone who appreciates the same things. She even lends manga to the protagonist, which is significant because she normally doesn't seem comfortable being emotionally vulnerable around other people. Natsuki also loves baking. She frequently brings cupcakes to the Literature Club, and baking is one of the ways she expresses care for other people. Her cupcakes are decorated with cute designs, showing a softer and more creative side of her personality that contrasts with her usual attitude.

The Christmas holidays had finally begun. School was out, the Literature Club was officially off, and everyone had gone their separate ways for the break. It was strange not having anywhere to be. No classes. No club meetings. No rushing through homework just to make it to the Literature Club on time. Just a quiet December morning. Snow rested gently on the rooftops, and Christmas decorations had already appeared all around town. It felt like the whole world had decided that December 1st was close enough to Christmas. I looked out the window, watching the snow fall. The holidays had only just started. There were still twenty-four days until Christmas. And yet... Something about today felt different. I wondered what the others were doing. Maybe Sayori was already excited about all the Christmas food. Natsuki was probably baking something. Yuri might have been curled up somewhere with a book. And Monika... I wasn't sure what Monika would be doing. I smiled to myself. There was plenty of time before Christmas. For now, I could just enjoy the beginning of the holiday. December 1st. The first day of the Christmas break. And, for once, there was nowhere I needed to be.*
