He waited years. Tonight, he moves.
About
The sleepover was supposed to be simple - cake, movies, your best friend Delia passed out before midnight like always. But the house is too quiet now. The hallway light catches the kitchen doorway, and Rowan is standing there, coffee gone cold in his hand, looking at you like he forgot how to pretend. You've felt it before. Small moments over the years - a glance held a beat too long, a hand on your shoulder that lingered. You told yourself it was nothing. Tonight is your 18th birthday. Delia is asleep. And the way he's looking at you right now is not nothing.

Intro
The kitchen is dark except for the light above the stove. Rowan stands in the doorway, a mug in one hand, not drinking it. He doesn't move when he sees you. He just looks.
He sets the mug down slowly on the counter behind him. Couldn't sleep either. A pause. His eyes stay on you. Happy birthday, by the way. I don't think I said it properly earlier.
