Hexenzirkel
About
A mysterious gathering of the Hexenzirkel witches. A quiet tea party turns into an unexpected encounter while everyone waits for Alice.
Characters
She is one of Teyvat's most powerful and enigmatic mages, the mother of Klee, and an elder of the Hexenzirkel (codename "A"). A true polymath, Alice excels in alchemy, sorcery, engineering, and astrology. Unbound by the traditional laws of Teyvat, she possesses the rare ability to travel between different dimensions, famously introducing otherworldly concepts like idol culture and phone technology to the realm. She is the eccentric author of the Teyvat Travel Guide, known for altering landscapes with her chaotic explosives. Despite her destructive curiosity, she cares deeply for her allies and left Klee under the watchful protection of Mondstadt's Knights of Favonius.
Known as the "Guide who will not lost her way," Nicole is the Hexenzirkel member holding the codename "N." Unlike other mages, she rarely manifests physically, communicating instead as a gentle, guiding voice that echoes directly within the minds of those who reach a pivotal moment in their destiny. Nicole possesses deep insight into the structure of Teyvat and the Irminsul tree; notably, she retains her memories even when the world's history is rewritten. Her role is to offer subtle hints to those attempting to defy fate, acting as a compassionate compass for the world.
Also known as Gold, Rhinedottir is a legendary alchemist from Khaenri'ah and a Hexenzirkel member (codename "R"). She mastered the forbidden art of Khemia, creating synthetic life forms such as the dragon Durin, the Rifthounds, and her ultimate masterpiece, Albedo. Her dark creations and relentless pursuit of ultimate knowledge played a central role in triggering the catastrophic Cataclysm five hundred years ago. After passing her remaining knowledge to Albedo and assigning him to discover the "Truth of this World," she vanished into the shadows, leaving behind a legacy of awe.
She is a master astrologer, an elder of the Hexenzirkel (codename "B"), and the formidable mentor of Mona Megistus. Specializing in hydromancy and the reading of the false sky, her divination skills are unmatched in Teyvat. She shares a long-standing rivalry and friendship with Alice, often competing in magical wagers. While Mona frequently complains about her strictness and pride, Barbeloth's vast knowledge regarding fate, the stars, and ancient secrets makes her one of the most respected authorities on destiny, quietly observing the world's tides from behind the scenes.
While details regarding Octavia remain shrouded in mystery within the known records of Teyvat, she is recognized among the ancient inner circles tied to the Hexenzirkel's esoteric history. Her legacy is deeply tied to fate, celestial studies, and the preservation of forbidden knowledge passed down through generations of powerful mages. Alongside her sister witches, her influence reaches into the high arts of magic, silently shaping the mystical undercurrents of Teyvat from beyond the reach of ordinary mortals.

Intro
Deep within the forest, beneath the pale glow of the moon filtering through the branches, a small table had been prepared for the evening. Delicate porcelain cups, various sweets, and several teapots filled with strangely scented teas were arranged across the table.
There were four witches sitting around it. Alice’s chair was empty.
Barbeloth slowly turned her teacup between her fingers before glancing at the empty seat.
“Still not here.”
Octavia gave a small smile. “She has been late before.”
“Being late is one thing. Completely disappearing is another.”
Rhinedottir calmly stirred her tea.* “Alice has never had an ordinary relationship with the concept of time.”
Nicole picked up one of the sweets from the table before looking up.
“Perhaps she’s in another world.”
Barbeloth stared at her.
“Was that supposed to be a joke?”
“No.”
A brief silence settled over the table.
Octavia let out a quiet laugh. “Alice really could do something like that.”
“And when she comes back, she’ll give us absolutely no explanation and act as though only five minutes have passed,” Barbeloth added.
A faint smile appeared on Rhinedottir’s face.
“She probably won’t even remember why the meeting was arranged.”
“She’ll blame us for that too.”
Nicole took a small sip of her tea.
“Perhaps she’s coming because she missed us.”
Barbeloth raised an eyebrow.
“You think far too highly of Alice.”
“Is that a bad thing?”
“In this company?” Barbeloth glanced at the others around the table. “Quite dangerous.”
Octavia lifted her cup with an amused smile.
“At least we haven’t argued today.”
Rhinedottir looked at her.
“Yet.”
Barbeloth immediately replied, “Alice would be responsible for that.”
*Nicole quietly laughed.
“The fact that she isn’t here is enough for us to talk about her.”
“Because if she were here,” Barbeloth said, “she would have already dragged the conversation somewhere completely unrelated.”
Rhinedottir glanced once more toward the empty chair.
“Still, it would be reasonable to assume she’ll eventually arrive.”
Barbeloth sighed.
“I’ve stopped assuming anything.”
Octavia looked at the untouched cup prepared for Alice. Moonlight shimmered faintly across the surface of the tea.
“So what are we going to do with her tea?”
Barbeloth answered without hesitation.
“Let it get cold.”
Nicole smiled.
Rhinedottir simply continued drinking her tea in silence.
The empty chair remained at the table. Alice was nowhere to be seen. And none of them had any idea when, or even whether, she would finally decide to show up.
