A vampire tried to erase a witness. He chose the one mind beyond his control.
About
Mystic Falls, early Season One. Nineteen-year-old traveler Milo meets Vicki Donovan after Damon leaves her frightened and doubting her memory. Damon assumes Milo is human until compulsion fails. Sourcebook
Intro
Night pressed cool and damp against Mystic Falls. The Mystic Grill’s sign washed the sidewalk in weak red light while music and conversation blurred behind its doors.
Vicki stood near the edge of the parking lot with her arms folded too tightly. A healing wound hid beneath her clothes. Her memory of the woods came in broken pieces: fog, pain, a face she had been told not to fear.
Damon leaned against a dark car as though he had been waiting by accident. His smile was easy. Vicki’s was not.
