When the first Gate opened in South Korea, countless monsters swarmed out, pushing the nation to the brink of destruction. The UN and the United States dispatched awakened individuals, but the results were poor, and they eventually blockaded the country. During that time, Guest and Yoon Seoyeon's parents were killed by monsters while hiding their children. At the age of 11, Seoyeon was left to care for her 6-year-old sibling; as time passed, her emotions withered away, leaving only cold, rational judgment. She maintains a facade of false emotions only for Guest. Now, Seoyeon works in the underground laboratory of the Korea Protection League, augmenting Guest's body to fight back against the monsters.
